Whimsy Stamps DT Call Out Creation

Hi there

Well even though my mojo has taken a hit since losing my mum I decided to bite the bullet and try out for Whimsy Stamps DT Call Out. I adore their stamp range, I know I haven't used many in the past but it's purely been down to time and conflict of DT interest. Anyhow, I applied and I wanted to show you my entry.

Unfortunately I haven't been successful this time, but hopefully I will try again next year. You must check out their online shop. For those in the UK, Whimsy is an American company so you will need to take into account shipping and duty, however they do stock lots of fabulous digital stamps as well. They use lots of very talented designers so there's always something for everyone. Check them out here. They also have a fabulous inspiration blog with lots of wonderful ideas from the Design Team - you can find it here.

The stamp I used was one I won in a dear friend's blog competition last year. Thank you Wendy. x

So here was my entry for the 2017 Design Team.

I Did:
I sprinkled Brushos onto watercolour card and spritz it to create the background - I used blues, greens and yellows. When dry it was fixed the card base front.

The image was stamped onto Kraft card and coloured with pencils starting with a white pencil and building up colour. When completed it was cut to size and mounted onto a die cut cream pearlised card rectangle. The topper was added to the card front using foam pads. Using a banner die I created a double fishtail banner which I added to the front with a couple of pearls. To finish off I added crystal glitter to the fairy's wing.

I Used:
Stamp: Whimsy Stamp 'Fairy'
Paper & Card: Kraft Card, Watercolour Card, Cream Card, Cream Card Base (xxx)
Spectrum Noir Pencils: Skin - Linen, Peach, Saddle Brown, Cream, Cider / Hair - White, Daffodil, Bumblebee, Linen, Honey, Lemon / Dress - White, Denim Blue, Petrol Blue, Royal Blue /  Leaves - White, Shamrock,. Grass, Amazon Green, Virialen, Alpine, Daffodil / Stalks, White, Grass, Alpine / Wings - White, Peony, Petal
Dies: Tattered Lace 'Pearl' Rectangle, MFT 'Banner', Paper Smooches 'Dots & Dashes'
Other: Brushos,  Pearls, Spritzer Bottle, Shimmer Paint, Crystal Glitter

Thank you for dropping by.

Hugs to you all, and to my American friends please keep safe.

The stamps were launched on August 6th on Create & Craft - you might have spotted some of my samples. My Sad News!

Hi there,

Although I do have a pile of card/projects to share with you, I won't be posting them or anything else for a little while. The reason is that my mum passed away last week.

She was rushed into hospital with Heart Failure which is a condition she developed after her open heart surgery in January, however she actually died of a bleed on her brain caused by a fall in the hospital, in which she hit her head. It has been a traumatic few weeks, and the likes of which I would never want to repeat. My sister and I stayed with her 24/7 from when we discovered something was seriously wrong (this was missed by nursing staff) until her death. It was an horrendous 5 days, of which I will be permanently haunted by.

I am also my mum's executor for her funeral, so I'm dealing with all aspects of that, plus I am joint executor of her Will. So as you can imagine I'm pretty busy atm, but at least it is keeping me occupied. I also have to deal with the Coroner because due to the circumstances of her death he has bcome  involved...so all in all by head is 'done in' as we say in the North East of England. I have to admit to being very tired and stressed beyond words, but I know it will pass and I will craft and blog as soon as things settle down.

I hope you will visit again, and thank you for reading my sad message.

Hugs

My Mum's Craft Shop Design Team - June Project #2

Hi there everyone 💜

I'm here today to share my card for 'My Mum's Craft Shop' (MMCS) Design Team with you. As the shop will be closed for a few months there won't be anymore for a little while from MMCS. However I will still be making my projects using various products and techniques so I will share them as and when I've completed them. So I hope you keep visiting my blog. 😄

For my card today I've created a CAS card using dies and a stencil all from My Favorite Things, plus a few sequins.  Hope you like it.

Here's What I Did
First I cut down a piece of Kraft card 4¾" x 4¾" and added colour using a stencil and distressing ink. When dry the stencilled topper was matted onto some gold mirror card 5" x 5" and added to the 5¼" x 5¼" card base using foam tape. The word 'Friend was die cut from the same gold mirror card as the mat and glued in place on top of a strip of white parchment on the card front.

To completed the card, sequins were die cut from gold mirror card and added along with tiny silver and white sequins around the sentiment.

Here's What I Used
Stencil: My Favourite Thing 'Split Diagonal'
Dies: Die-namics My Favourite Thing 'Friends' and My Favourite Things 'Sequins'
Paper & Cardstock (CS):  5¼" x 5¼" Card Blank, Kraft Card, Gold Mirror Card

Other: Foam Tape, White Parchment, Tea dye Distressing Ink, Sequin

My Mum's Craft Shop - June Project #1

Hi there everyone 💜

I'm here to share my June 'My Mum's Craft Shop' (MMCS) Design Team card with you. For my card today I decided to use the Snuggle Bunnies 'Snuggle Bunnies' stamp set from MFT and coloured them with Copics. I created the background using distressing inks and die cut tiny silver glitter stars. Hope you like it.

Here's What I Did
I used a 5" x 5" card blank and covered the front with black card. First I stamped my images onto Neenah card, coloured them with Copic pens and cut them out.

I die cut a circle from white card and sponged different distressing inks on top until I achieved the look I wanted, when dry I die cut a shooting star at the top and attached it to a black circle mat.  The rabbit, stamped sentiment and lots of tiny silver stars and dots were glued onto the coloured circle topper.

The completed topper was adhered to a die cut fancy circle and attached to the card front. To finish off the little teddy bear was glued to the circle next to the rabbit.

Here's What I Used
Stamps: My Favorite Things 'Snuggle Bunnies' and 'Label Maker Sentiments'

Other: 5" x 5" Card Blank, White Card, Matt Black Card, Silver Glitter Card, Distressing Inks, Memento Ink, Lawn Fawn 'Starry Skies' Die, Tattered Lace 'Pearl Circles' and 'Circles' Dies, Creative Expression 'Double Pierced Circles', Archival Black Ink, Neenah Card, Water

Copics:  E50, 51, E53, E35, Y00, Y02, Y17

My Mum's Craft Shop Design Team - May Project #2

Hi again everybody 💜

Yes, I'm here as promised with another of my My Mum's Craft Shop (MMCS) Design Team cards for you.  To create my CAS I simply used Brushos and the cute little dies from My Favorite Thing (MFT) called 'Birdhouses' When I looked at the dies I just felt that they needed to be made into silhouettes ---  so that's exactly what I did. I have to admit to loving the little bird sat on top of the houses - it's so sweet. There were 2 birds on my card but one seems to have flown away. Lol  I used Brushos for the background. Hope you like it.

Here's What I Did
The 6" x 4½" card base was cut to size to create a top folding card, then a piece of paper was glued to the front.  The background was created using Brushos, water and watercolour card, which was then die cut and added to a black die cut mat. The topper was glued flat to the card front.

The birdhouses were die cut from black card and white glitter card. The legs of the bird houses were cut from black card instead of the die cut ones to make them appear taller. The sentiment were die cut from white card and stamped in black ink. Everything was added to the card front using foam tape and glue. To complete the card I added a few sparkly sequins.

Here's What I Used
Stamps:  My Favorite Thing (MFT) 'Birdhouses' and  'Label Maker Sentimental'
Paper & Cardstock (CS): Black Card, Watercolour Card, White Card, MFT 'Dot's & Stripes Confection' Paper Pad

Other: Brushos, Tonic Die Set, Archival Ink, Foam Tape,

If you wish to purchase any of the above items from My Mum's Craft Shop and an item is out of stock, simply email/ring the shop to make an order and Kitty will help you. Thank you.

Using different sized circle stamps I added bubbles using white paint, when everything was dry a sentiment was stamped with black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  the completed background was cut to size and added to the card front.

The mermaids, turtle and clown fish were stamped onto Neenah card and coloured using Copics, glitter pen were added to the mermaid's tails and tops. All the images were then cut out and added to the card front - some where glued flat and some were raised up using foam tape. To complete the card I added a few sequins.

Crafter's Companion Design Team - Glamour Collection Launch

Hi there

I thought you might like to see the cards I created for Crafter's Companion Main Design Team before I left. I designed them for Sara's Signature 'Glamour' Collection which was launched on Hochanda last week.

The first 5 were shown on several of the Hochanda shows by Sara, Debbie, Charlie and Hayley. I was as proud as punch :) I even had my camera out to take photos of the TV....sad I know (check the photos out below)! Lol

The collection is beautiful and fab for proms, weddings or just girlie cards. I have listed all the products I used along with the links to the store. I apologies in advance as this post is pretty picture heavy. I hope you like them though.
